VulcanSketching | Modeling | Rigging & Final Product
Sketching Creating the idea was probably the second most difficult part of this project. But with some help from my friend, Diana, I was able to think of the basic idea and was able to expand from that. I named him Vulcan after the Roman god of fire and metalworking. In concept art he has removable limbs that are replaced with additional parts and costumes. Modeling:
I used Sculptris to make the model of Vulcan. Sculptris is a free and easy modeling program, treating models like clay that the user can mold using a variety of tools. I created the multiple parts of Vulcan and assembled them in one single file so it would be easier to texture and rig. Rigging and Finished Product:
I textured and rigged Vulcan in Blender. Learning how to rig was the hardest part of this project. Blender is my primary 3D program but rigging was something I haven't work with until this project. Overall it was a good learning experience and a fun project. Hopefully you liked the final product! (Sorry about it looking a bit glitchy. The render was weird about the eye textures) |
